Hampstead Heath Level 3 Training

#paediatricfirstaid

The joys of driving in London this week, I'm running a L3 Paediatric Course for Salvus Consultancy at a very nice public school called Heathside close to Hampstead Heath.

We are using a Quaker meeting house which is a lovely venue, really quiet considering where we are.

Already this week Invenio has covered two frontline shifts and a basic life support course for GP's at a local surgery.

A busy weekend and week is approaching for Invenio with two more frontline shifts booked, a three day first aid at work with the Berkshire College of Agriculture, a half day manual handling course with Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and my bike needs an MOT.

Looking ahead, the final prep for new residential outdoor first aid courses almost complete, which will be an exciting addition.

Lucky with the weather

#petfirstaid

With rain forecast for two days our August camp wasn't looking good.

However we had two good days, added to a great group and cracking dogs we had a nice two day camp at Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

Plenty of obedience and agility training, with sessions on pet first aid and animal care throughout.

A huge thank you to all the staff who make it happen.  Feedback from the kids and parents was really good.

That's it for this year, we will be looking at May half term 2016 for our next camp.

All in a Days Work

#firstaidtraining

I have been busy covering A & E shifts with ambulance service recently.

Whilst driving to a standby point a goat ran across the road at a busy time of day.  Really, no kidding a loose goat, sorry that was an example of the ongoing humour.

To avoid an RTC my crew mate and I caught her and waited for our colleagues from Thames Valley Police, who with staff from the Goat Centre in Aylesbury took the now christened 'Wendy' to a safe location.

Our good deed done for the day we carried on with our shift.  Wendy with the aid of Facebook has become a celebrity whilst waiting to see if her owners come forward.

Hannah's Little Cherubs Day Two

#paediatricfirstaid

Second day of Level Three Paediatric First Aid with Hannah's Little Cherubs.

Cracking group, lots of fun and keen to learn. Makes training so much more enjoyable.  Everyone past the 'Celebration of Learning' and will receive their certificates soon.

Last week was busy with the final Sainsbury's Veteran's, a pet first aid course, a BBQ with Community First Responders and frontline A&E.  Looking ahead we have more frontline A&E and manual handling with Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.

Hannahs Little Cherubs

#paediatricfirstaid

Day one of two day Level 3 Paediatric first aid course.  Staff of Hannah's Little Cherubs were welcoming and interested in the course content, the choking suits were again a popular activity.

Next Saturday is day two, completing breaks, burns and illnesses among other subjects.
